Moon

Waxing Crescent Moon in Virgo

The waxing moon is a time to nurture the things in our life that are new, growing and precious.  Virgo Moons favor critical intellect, paying close attention to details, and all aspects of service to the greater good--volunteering, service to others and community needs. This moon lends itself easily to all aspects of health, healing and work.  A Virgo Moon, associated with the element of Earth, will help ground some of these very dynamic energies represented in the stone, essential oil and tarot cards for today. What areas of your life might benefit from increasing attention to detail, a focus on healing or working for the benefit of others?

Purpose: The Movement of the thing.

Theme: Manifestation

Quality and element:  Mutable Earth

Ruling Planet: Mercury

Stone

Fulgurite

Keywords: Survivor, Mighty, Bold

Fulgurite is formed by the connection of lightning to earth.  The intense heat of a bolt of lightning fuses the silica in the soil, creating a hollow glass tube. This stone reminds me of the energy of the Goddess Kali, the embodiment of transformation and rebirth following destruction and disaster. Fulgurite captures that moment when one cycle ends and the next begins with a powerful initiatory vibration. When what is cannot be shifted into what is needed, we must not hesitate to burn the crop to nurture the land for what will follow.

Oil

Melaleuca

Anchor word: Evolution

I attract only what is for my highest good.

The imbalances and relationships that have been keeping you down are no longer needed.  You are ready to transform.

There is a fantastic continuation of the theme of beginning anew with the Melaleuca card coming up in conjunction today with the Fulgurite crystal affirmation card and the Waxing Crescent moon. Razing the old to make way for the new seems to be a theme for the day. Melaleuca helps establish healthy energetic boundaries.  When we are able to release connections which no longer serve us, we create space for new possibilities.  Embrace this energy of transformation today, and see what rattles out when you give your world a little shake.

Tarot

8 Strength

We become that with which we fight.

The Strength card represents the focused and controlled force of the Fire element. Knowing when to direct the movement of Fire and when to allow it to flow is the exercise of both will and intuition.  She represents strength in all aspects--health, morality and intelligence. In this position, Strength represents prior exercise of the force of will guided by intuition.

10 of Pentacles, Reversed

The 10 of Pentacles is one of the most positive of the Minor Arcana cards. It is a card of deep fulfillment, an abundance of resources, contentment and satisfaction across the spectrum of human needs. From this space of bliss, the 10 of pentacles represents a fulfillment on the physical level creating a bridge to the spiritual aspect of life.  Reversed, this card may signify a depth of personal, internal resources and riches or a situation which instigates deep personal fulfillment.

5 of Cups

The 5 of Cups brings the power of change; the evaluation and sorting of feelings or relationships. This card continues the theme of change, transformation and powerful shifts. In this position, this card indicates loss on the horizon, but note that all is lost.  Releasing what no longer serves us creates capacity for more of what we want to create in our lives.  The key here will be the capacity to maintain space for both grieving what has passed and gratitude for the remaining foundation for fulfillment.
